10th Week - Cups and Paint

This week in AutoCAD, the project reached its end of the building process. We finished up painting the entire garden purple, as we did not have enough paint to make a green tree like design. Some red solo cups were cut so that they could be placed into the holes and used to hold the plants in place as they are growing. Lastly, tubes were put in place and a pump was place in the tub at the outlet of the pipes, allowing us to run water through the system for the first time. Thankfully there were no leaks which means that the building stage is done and all that needs to be done now is the placing of the seeds.

9th Week - Cutting and Glueing

This week in AutoCAD, supports for the pipes were screwed into the main posts. The pipes had all their wholes cut out where the plants will be growing from and most of the pipes were glued together. One of the elbow joints went missing so the last two pipes could not go into place but next week it be completed.

8th Week - Making Progress

This week in AutoCAD, we did not use AutoCAD. Cement was mixed and poured into the bases and left to harden. The PVC pipping was cut up into five foot increments and the bases were moved into postion. The idea was also brought up to make the finished product resemble a tree, so it will be painted and have some 2x4s (branches) added as both supports for the pipes and for aesthetics.

7th Week - Building

This week in AutoCAD, some supplies were purchased for the groups and construction is now underway. Our group started construction of the main support structure for the garden. We cut and assembled the triangle bases of the structure which allow the garden to be placed nice and neatly into the corner of the room. We were going to pour some concrete this week but that will have to be put off until next Monday as more concrete will need be purchased.
